Items borrowed from Northumbria University Library can be discharged from your account either by using the self-return machines located on the ground floor of both City Campus and Coach Lane Campus Libraries. If you have any trouble using these machines, help is available from the nearby Ask4Help desks.

If you are a distance learner you can return books by post using the the following address below:

Northumbria University

Part Time/Distance Learners Service
Ellison Place

  1. I need to return books by post as I live over 1 hour from the University and am not due to return to University until after the Easter Break in 3 weeks. Can I return the books by post or can charges be suspended for a couple of weeks?

  2. Hi Carl, thank you for your enquiry. You can return books to us via post and I have updated this FAQ to include the address to return Library books to. If you do decide to post them to us please make sure you do so well in advance of the due date to prevent any charges.

If you can of course renew your books, providing there are no reservations or fines of over £5 on your account. Please contact us via e-mail or telephone if you wish us to do so.
