If you forget your smartcard then we can grant you University Library access for 1 day by giving you a student day pass. Please present some valid photographic identification to Ask4Help desk at either City Campus Library, Coach Lane Library or the Law Practice Library. It will not be possible to get a student day pass outside of core hours which are Monday to Friday 9am until 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am until 5pm. For further information on opening hours please see the University Library Opening Hours webpage.
You are are only permitted 5 student day passes per academic term, once you have reached 5 you will need to bring your smartcard with you the next time you visit the University Library or you will be denied entry.
You can still print/scan documents to email/photocopy without your Northumbria University smartcard by selecting the Alternate Login button on the printer touchscreen and manually typing your Northumbria University userid and password when prompted. You can then use the printer as normal.
You will also be required to register for lectures and seminars via your smartcard, if you do forget your smartcard there may be an alternative way to 'sign-in' if not please notify the Student Progress Team in Student Central as this may affect your attendance record.
