A full list of Library charges is available on the University Library website. This list includes cost of printing and photocopying, fines, subscriptions and invoiced books.
- what is happening with the book fines with the new system that autorenews loans?
- Hi Ben,
Thank you for your comment.
Auto-renewals are currently in operation however we are still refining the processes. For students and staff we intend that all books will be auto-renewed for up to 4 months. The only things that would prevent your book being auto-renewed during that 4 months is if you have £5 or greater in fines, or the book has been reserved by another user, in which case you will be given 7 days to return the book from the date of reservation (an email will be sent to your Northumbria University email account). Once the 4 month period has elapsed you will need to return the book(s) and check it out again if you wish to continue using it.
It is still possible to accrue fines on overdue books of 15p per day for 7 day books and 20p per day for 4 week books. This would occur if the book did not qualify for auto-renewals (as detailed earlier) and if it wasn’t returned to us by the required due date.
