If a book you believe you have returned is still showing on your account, and you have your returns receipt then we will be able to resolve the matter quickly.
However, if you don't have the receipt then the book will be placed into a process where by we undertake three shelf checks for it over the course of a few weeks. It remains on your account during this period. If the book is not found after these checks have been completed then you will be asked to replace the item. All books remain the responsibility of the borrower until returned through the self-service units - you can get paper receipts or email receipts to show that you have returned your books.
