Q. How do I go about securing a placement or internship?

You can find placement, internship and work experience opportunities on our vacancy system JobsOnline. Complete the registration form to access the list of vacancies and to set up email alerts when new opportunities are added.

You will find helpful information on our Careers website Careers Online for useful links and information, including a section on Placements

You can get 1-1 support with your career plan and finding appropriate work experience by speaking to a careers adviser at the Careers Advisor Drop-in. Drop in sessions are held at City Campus Library from Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm during teaching weeks and 1:00pm to 4:00pm during vacation. If you're interested please let a member of staff know at the ground floor Ask4Help desk.

Faculties at Northumbria which offer sandwich placements have placement staff who provide specific support.  The Careers and Employment Service works closely with placement staff and can also help you find employers to contact.

The Careers Information and Job Search Drop-in runs on Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in Student Central.  Our Careers Information Team can help you find relevant careers information and resources - just come along, no appointment necessary.
