Q. What happens if I lose my smartcard?


You must carry your Northumbria University smartcard with you at all times. It not only allows you access to many buildings, rooms and facilities across campus, but it is also used to register you for lectures and seminars (as well as potential student discount off-campus).
Should you need to replace your Smartcard, please go to an Ask4Help desk at Student Central at City Campus West (University Library, Ground Floor), City Campus East (Newcastle Business School, Ground Floor) or Coach Lane Campus (Coach Lane Library, Ground Floor). Replacement cards cost £5, and you must bring alternative valid photo ID with you, such as a driving license, passport or national identity card.
If you have lost your card please contact Ask4Help as soon as possible (phone 0191 227 4646 or email: ask4help@northumbria.ac.uk), and they will put a block on your card to prevent anyone else from using it, or from borrowing books on your Library account.
