How do I search for a print journal using Library Search?

You can search for print journals titles in Library Search.

To find whether Northumbria owns a print copy of a journal, refine your title search by the resource type "Journals" and your preferred Library location by using the options at the left side of the results page. Print journals will display a "Get It" link which will display location and holdings details. Please note that the Library may not own complete sets of journal titles in print.

Most print journals are held in the City Library Sub-basement with some also available at Coach Lane and the Law Practice Library. Print journals are reference only.

To find Journals using Library Search:

Step 1: Type the Journal title into the Library Search box and click Search.

Step 2: If too many results display, use the Refine My Results menu on the left of the results page. Under Resource Type, select Journals; you can further refine your results by using the Available in the Library option under Show only.

A journal available in print may be listed with a Library location or the record may indicate that physical copies are available. Click on the "Get It" link to see details.

Journals available online are listed as ‘Full text available’. Use the ‘Read it online’ link to access the journal, then navigate to a specific year or issue, or to the  article reference you require.
