Careers Online has lots of helpful advice on writing a CV and covering letter.

You can also get help with writing CVs and covering letters at a Careers Information and Job Search Drop-in, facilitated by the Careers Information Team. There are two drop-ins available: Monday to Friday 1:00pm to 3:00pm during teaching weeks at Student Central, City Campus Library, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm to 3:00pm during teaching weeks on the ground floor City Campus East. Both drop-ins take place in the Beach Huts. No appointment is necessary.

Careers Advisers are also available to provide specific guidance on writing CVs and covering letters. Drop-in sessions run daily Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm during teaching weeks and 1pm to 4pm during the vacation period. Come to the Ask4Help desk at Student Central, City Campus Library to be added to the drop-in list.

There is also a collection of careers guidance resources in City Campus Library located in the Library basement that will help you both with your CV and with writing covering letters.
