Volunteering whilst you are a student can give you valuable transferrable skills which employers require from graduates. These include: commercial awareness, interpersonal skills, customer focus skills, teamwork, leadership skills and cultural awareness. You can speak to Careers staff at the Careers Advisor Drop-in or Careers Information and Job Search Drop-in about ways to find relevant volunteering opportunities. Voluntary opportunities are also advertised on JobsOnline.

The Careers Advisor Drop-In is held Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 4.00pm during teaching weeks and 1.00pm to 4pm during vacation.

The Careers Information and Job Search Drop-in takes place on Monday to Friday between 1.00pm and 3.00pm in Student Central on the ground floor of the University City Library and Tuesday and Thursday 1pm-3pm during term time in the Beach Hut on the ground floor at City Campus East, opposite the Ask4help counter .  No appointment is required.

Further information about volunteering can be accessed via Careers Online
