SCONUL stands for Society of College, National and University Libraries. SCONUL allows access to most university libraries in the UK and Ireland through a reciprocal access scheme.

The level of access available depends on student status (undergraduate / post graduate. full time / part time etc.) and varies depending on each individual  library. Details about registering with the scheme for Northumbria University students is available here; details about access for SCONUL members from other institutions is available on the library website's membership page.

For more information please see the SCONUL website or contact the Ask4Help team, either in person at one of the University Library sites or by calling 0191 227 4646.
